The city of Orange, incorporated in 1873, is one of the few places in Orange County who sought to preserve many of the historic homes built in the early part of the century. Olde Towne Orange and the Historic District center around a charming central Plaza. The historic area is home to several trendy restaurants and many antique shops. The city is also home to Chapman University, a private college. While the center of the town is composed of early craftsman style homes, in the surrounding areas you can find mid-century and newer homes.
