San Juan Capistrano

San Juan Capistrano is centered around the oldest historic area in Orange County, Mission San Juan Capistrano, which was developed by the Spanish in 1776. It also houses the oldest residential street, Los Rios, which is composed of restaurants, private residences and a historic museum along the railroad tracks. Many of the original structures in this charming town were made of adobe and are listed on the register of historic places. Not only a tourist destination, there are a few residential communities both on the west and east side of the 5 freeway. Custom homes dot the hillside, and there are several gated communities including the Hunt Club and Marbella, which has a private golf club.
