Coto de Caza
Coto de Caza (which is said to be Spanish for 'hunting ground') is a master planned development pioneered in the late 1970s. Originally composed of just a few hillside homes (called the Village) as well as the original Coto Valley Country Club and Tennis Academy, now it is composed of approximately 4000 homes, including both custom and trac homes, as well as acreage in Los Ranchos Estates. Included behind the gates are the Coto de Caza Country Club which is home to two Robert Trent Jones Jr designed golf courses, tennis courts, spa, restaurants and pool. Also known for its Equestrian Center which hosted the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, Coto offers a somewhat pastoral feel with miles of horse and hiking trails, while remaining close to the usual urban amenities.
